Artist An Te Liu curated by star architect Marianne McKenna

“I think An Te is an artist who speaks to our time. His work evokes the totemic representation of man, the order of the world, and yet it has beautiful texture and materiality – a remarkable tension with a very learned and thoughtful approach. ”

In collaboration with the Globe and Mail, Wondereur invited star architect Marianne McKenna to share the work of an artist that deeply touches her. Marianne is a founding partner of Kuwabara Payne McKenna Blumberg Architects, one of Canada's leading architectural firms. With over two dozen projects under her direction, Marianne's dynamic ability to combine heritage and innovation is what launched an 18-year restoration of the Royal Conservatory Telus Centre for Performance and Learning – her most notable achievement – earning KPMB numerous awards and being hailed as the "final jewel in the crown of Toronto’s Cultural Renaissance.” In 2012, Marianne was appointed as an Officer of the Order of Canada, the country's highest honour for her services in Canadian architecture.
