“Ou Topos tells the story of an abandoned trailer found in a Toronto underground parking lot. The trailer belonged to Tino Gerney, a young man who was driven by the fear of an upcoming catastrophe. He had covered his entire trailer with lead and collected deformed oak leaves. His grandfather was haunted by similar fears after the Chernobyl disaster to which he had lost his friend Ukranian filmmaker Vladimir Shevchenko.”

“Iris' ability to be possessed by fictional characters is extremely powerful. It all starts in the studio – in Iris' hands – as a one-on-one between her and her characters. Then the work grows out of the studio to include individuals and organizations who become part of the project on different levels. Iris' practice is both solitary and collaborative; she touches upon extremes in artistic creation and masters and explores various medium and practices. The resulting experience for the viewer taps into the full-spectrum of the human experience: it's kinaesthetic, it's sensual, it requires the use of your imagination and your analytical mind. Iris calls her works 'novels in three dimensions' and perceives them as 'Gesamtkunstwerk', total works of art.”

Catherine Sicot's unconventional curatorial practice develops on the edges of the white cube. Catherine has built a reputation as a fearless art producer facilitating international art collaborations with underserved communities in Canada, France and Cuba. During the 2012 Havana Biennial, she co-curated MAC/SAN, an ephemeral international contemporary art museum in a suburb of Havana. Since 2014, she has been developing La Primavera del Amor, a platform for intercultural research and art production in Cuba. In 2015, in conjunction with the 12th Havana Biennial, she launched "Hors Pistes: La Primavera del amor” first edition of Hors-Pistes Festival in Havana, in collaboration with the Centre Pompidou’s (Hors-Pistes Programme) and local partners. She has collaborated in the development of the Sophie La Rosière Project with Iris Häussler since 2013.
