“Karine’s work is personal, in that it presents a gallery of characters that she uses to express her stories. Through them, she constructs a fictional world that really becomes a utopia – or dystopia. She offers opinions on relationships, fear, sexuality, and eroticism in her drawings and sculptures. It’s a very daring move, because many artists are afraid of expressing what’s inside.”
Dorothée Dupuis is a freelance curator based in Marseille and Mexico City. In 2006, she collaborated with many high-profile European artists on exhibitions as a curator at Paris' famous Centre Pompidou. As director of Triangle France from 2007 to 2012, Dorothée played a critical position in establishing the Marseille organization as one of France's premier voices for up and coming artists, supporting their career paths and helping them develop projects.
