I'VE BEEN a graffiti writer for over 20 years. When I paint my letters on walls, it starts off with a sketch that’s almost like a blueprint, and I build the work piece by piece. I’ve taken that same approach to wood-working.”

Artist KWEST curated by world-renowned chef Susur Lee

Susur lee portrait
I like the fact that KWEST is a sculptor. I like his colours and his dimensions. He’s expressive. The way he does graffiti is very different from the way he does sculpture, which is very tangible and refined. His graffiti has three dimensions, and his sculpture, he implements nature with wood. He’s become mature in a different variety of forms.”

WORLD-RENOWNED CHEF • CHEF OF THE MILLENNIUM • RESTAURATEUR • FUSION CUISINE PIONEER

Hong-Kong born Susur Lee not only is Drake's favourite chef: he is the recipient of the prestigious CAA Five Diamond Award in Cannes and was slated one of the 10 chefs of the millennium by Food and Wine magazine in 2000. Since opening his first restaurant in 1987, he has pioneered the fusion of traditional Chinese cuisine and classical French techniques, traveled extensively to expand his knowledge of Asian food culture and created unique sensory experiences. A contestant on Top Chef: Masters, the pony-tailed chef lent his expertise to competitions such as MasterChef Asia. Together with sons Kai and Levi, Susur runs four critically acclaimed restaurants in Toronto, one in Singapore, and most recently, has joined forces with Drake to open a sixth restaurant in Toronto.
