“These black and white photos were inspired by my grandfather from my father’s side, whom I never met. He was quite famous in Bermuda, working as a UN ambassador and an entertainer. He was the first black man to manage a hotel. All these things in his lifetime were huge milestones for people of colour. I’ve seen images of him as this always smiling, accessible, successful man. But he never had five minutes for his family because he was always working so hard to make sure everyone was supported.”

Dr Kenneth Montague is a curator and prominent art collector, owning one the largest collections of African and Jamaican art in North America. He is the founder and director of Wedge Curatorial Projects, a non-profit that promotes black heritage through contemporary art. In addition to being on the advisory board of the African Art Acquisition Committee of the Tate Modern in UK, this modern day Renaissance man is a music and design buff with an impeccable style.
